Candlelight was first designed with a handle completely
covered with rich Renaissance embroidery (which is still visible on the side
panels). Then it was shown to a famous designer, who said, "It�s lovely, but why
not add a modern note? Why not lay a ribbon of smooth silver right down the
center of the handle?" Instantly, there was a striking effect of plain silver
contrasted with rich ornamentation.
In no other pattern besides Candlelight do you have the effect of a raised
ribbon of silver that is laid over a rich decorative background. That's why
