Chippendale
Introduced in 1937, Chippendale
owes its design directly to the great master for whom it is named. The graceful,
curving leg of an 18th century chair is the inspiration for the sweeping curves
in every detail of this design.
For example, only in Chippendale does the end of the handle sweep out in a
graceful flare - just like the mark of the master, Chippendale himself. Delicate
raised lines and tiny flowerlets on both the front and back of the handle
accentuate the smooth curves of the pattern. All elements are perfectly
balanced, which makes Chippendale so classic and enduring.
