The
International Silver Company was incorporated in 1898 by a number of
independent New England Silversmiths
whose family backgrounds began with the
earliest American settlers. International became not only renown for the
quality of its fine silver, it became the world's largest manufacturer
of silverware. They ceased making hollowware
in 1976 & in 1981 sold their
plated hollowware business to Oneida. In 1984 they were sold to Katy Industries
which
already owned Wallace. In 1986 both silver companies
were purchased by Syratech.
Patented in 1940 - An American favorite ever since.
